2022 SA HEALTH SCIENCE STUDENT SUCCESS CONFERENCE

The Office of Student Success in the Faculty of Health Science at Wits University is excited to announce the Virtual 2022 SA Health Science Student Success Conference.

The conference will be held on the 24 - 26 August 2022

Call for Abstract submissions is now open.

We invite abstracts for oral presentations and panel discussions. Submissions will be done electronically. 

We look forward to welcoming you to the virtual conference. 

1ST CALL FOR PAPERS 

You are invited to submit abstracts for the virtual SA Health Science Student Success Conference, 24 - 26 August 2022. This conference will address the following sub-themes: 

• Students thriving through socio-cultural engagement   
• Financial literacy and student entrepreneurship 
• Food insecurity among tertiary students 
• Re-imagining inclusivity: Student engagement within university spaces 
• Mental health and wellbeing in the era of the pandemic: Traditional vs Teletherapy approaches 
• Networking and collaboration enhance student success  
• Using university resources for research, reflection, relaxation, and rejuvenation 
• Holistic student development: A formula for career success 
• Mentoring, coaching and tutoring: stepping-stones for student success 
• Complexities of blended learning as the new norm 
• Anchoring students for success: Exploring innovative advising practices 
• Navigating failure  

We accept abstract submissions in the following formats: 

• Empirical Research 
• Theoretical/Conceptual papers  
• Practice/Reflective Student/Practitioner papers 

CRITERIA FOR SUBMISSIONS 

All submissions should speak to the overall conference theme, as well as sub-themes. Abstracts will be subject to a blind peer review process. The length of abstracts should be between 250 and 300 words.
